St. Joseph Campus

St. Elizabeth Campus

The St Joseph-St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School serves two parish communities, the St. Joseph Parish of Fort Wayne (at Brooklyn and Hale Avenues) and the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish of Fort Wayne (Aboite Center Road). The School serves a wedge-shaped geographic area encompassing 15% of Allen County. The School utilizes two campuses (6.8 miles apart) to serve our students; preschool through fourth grade is at the St. Elizabeth campus and fifth grade through eighth grade at the St. Joseph campus.

Our School Mission:

St. Joseph - St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School provides a quality educational environment in which
our students can achieve academic excellence, fulfill spiritual needs, and build the foundation for
a successful and faith-filled life. Students prepare for leadership in the church and society
through worship, community, service, message, and education.

Our School Vision:

“Building the Foundation for a Successful and Faith-Filled Life”

The History of Our School

The St. Joseph School was originally established in 1918 by the Sisters of St. Agnes, with the construction of the first Church on Taylor Street. With the exception of a brief 3-year period in the 1920’s, the school has operated continuously since 1918. In 1953 the current school building at the St. Joseph campus was opened. With the establishment of the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish in the 1990’s, the school served the same population, now split between two parishes. In 1997, the St. Elizabeth Ann Seton Parish added the Catechetical Center, allowing the expansion of the School to utilize space within both parishes to handle the rapidly growing enrollments. The parishes of St. Joseph and St. Elizabeth Ann Seton jointly operate the school today, with both pastors, the School principal and elected representatives from both parishes comprising the St. Joseph-St. Elizabeth Ann Seton School Board.
